Machine hairstrokes is an advanced technique in the permanent makeup industry. This technique is an extremely natural and restorative way to achieve incredibly undetectable results. It allows me to create fully customizable results to resemble your natural hair growth and texture. This technique is less traumatic to the skin, It uses a permanent makeup machine with a single needle to create seamless hairstrokes, making everyone a great candidate for this service. The difference between machine and microblading is that machine is creating tiny punctures into the skin, versus microblading creates a cut into the skin. It is more gentle on the skin and provides longer lasting results. (3-5 years depending on each client.) This service is currently the newest technique in permanent makeup, it is to be done by someone who is very knowledgeable and also understanding of machines, pigments, and skin types etc.
What is the process like?
Machine hairstrokes is a two step process. At your first session, we consult on what you are looking to achieve.. Whether you want fullness in your brows, color, so you don’t have to fill in, or are looking for shape that creates more balance to your face, etc. After precise measurements are taken, the drawing process starts. This is where the artist draws on the shape by following the measurements and the anatomy of the face, to ensure balance, and symmetry. Once the client approves of the shape, the artist starts your first session. From there, you will go through the healing process. (Please see post care instructions on how to properly care for your brows.) Then you come back for your 6 week touch-up. This is where the artist will add more strokes that are needed, boost the color, if client chooses to go darker. It is always best to start out thinner and lighter on your first session. That way at your touch up, if you want to add thickness and darkness to the brows, we have that option!
Does it hurt?
Most clients are very comfortable during their sessions. The artist consistently applies numbing agents to the area, to keep you from feeling nothing to very little. However, everyone has a different pain tolerance and also responds to numbing agents differently, in that case there may be some discomfort. Almost all of my clients say how relaxed they are while experiencing little to no discomfort.
Am I a good candidate?
Machine hair strokes is a wonderful service and I would love to work with everyone, however if you have certain skin conditions, medical ailments, scar tissue, or previously tattooed brows, please seek approve by emailing me, and/or providing a doctors consent before booking your appointment.
*** PLEASE NOTE*** Previous permanent makeup either done by myself or another artist requires approval prior to booking. (Please email me clear images in bright natural lighting of what your current brows are looking like.)
In order to create the most natural results, I must ensure that the previous pigment is either faded or gone from the skin. Microblading is very different from machine hair strokes and it is very important to make sure the skin can handle this technique! If at any point I suggest removal of previous permanent makeup, it is solely for the benefit of you as the cleint. Permanent makeup is constantly evolving and I am always keeping up with the right education and techniques to give my clients the best approach possible. If you feel like you have been considering removal and are not sure where to start, please don’t hesitate to reach out, I have referrals who are wonderful in removal!
If there is any point at which you feel you are not ready to start the process of cosmetic tattooing, please reconsider if this is the right move for you. This takes a lot of trust and also patience, so I want you to be comfortable at all steps during this process.
I encourage all clients to do their research, and also understand all risks that could be involved. It its crucial to commit to the recommended pre/post care to ensure the best outcome for you.
How Long Does it Last?
Machine hairstrokes can last 1-3 years. Over time the pigment will fade out, and you will find yourself questioning should I get a touch-up. I recommend most clients come back for a 1-3 year touch up to redefine the brows if you wish to continue this service. There are no guarantees when your brows will fully fade out, each individual is different. There are certain variables to consider when determining the length of time you will have your brows. Skin care products, lifestyle, skin health are all things to consider in how long your brows may last.
When should I book?
You can book whenever the time is right! But somethings to consider when booking, do you have a vacation coming up that will prevent you from following pre/post care? An event that may land in the middle of your healing time? Those are a few things to think about when booking, so please schedule accordingly!
